Such an honour to paint this Lion Cub for Sheffield Chinese Community Centre who adopted it to raise funds for Sheffield Children's Hospital. Every morning at sunrise I visited the lion cub in my studio and painted him before work. He came to life with the name 'Dragon Heart' and with a special message to all: 'I'm a friendly lion cub with the heart and power of a dragon, when I want to I can fly through the skies, breath fire or swim with the waters. All of us have a dragon inside us and we can change our futures whatever our background.'

'Dragon Heart' bears the Sheffield Steel dragon on his coat and has been honoured already by many visitors. A special honour was a visit by Abbot Zhao from White Cloud Temple in Beijing.

In June 'Dragon Heart' will be sited with all the other lion cubs, lions and lionesses in and around Sheffield for the Pride of Yorkshire Trail.
