A Year in the Life of an Artist-Before and After Covid

Harvesting 2022 I searched through art folders, sketch books and in my art studio to find the work I created last year.

I didn’t expect to find much, but I was wrong. I remembered how visiting Kenya I had planned to create a book and possibly an exhibition of paintings I did whilst there; the horror I felt hearing of Putin’s war on Ukraine and waiting to hear back messages from Ukrainian artist friends, and the painting i did to raise funds and pulse peace to them.

I also remembered how I had to learn after the many hours of sleeping in Long Covid that at times I tried to recover too fast and had to learn to pace.

Seeing the story through the chronological history of my work I decided to create this 3 minute video for others to enjoy and hopefully inspire others to harvest last year. We have all been through a collective challenge with the pandemic, wars and now the financial crisis.
